Frequently Asked Questions

SHIPPING POLICY

NEW** Orders from outside Canada may be subject to tariffs imposed by the customer’s government. Please be advised that payment of tariffs, duties and any other taxes or fees is solely the customer's responsibility.  After shipping, I will not honour any refund requests based on a buyer’s rejection of any tariffs levied, sincerest apologies.

What do you charge for shipping?

Per item

  • within BC and AB Canada approximately $26

  • All other provinces approximately $30/35

  • USA: $38.00 (Canadian funds)

  • additional items are usually around $5-10 extra per item because of the bigger box.  I will contact you with updated cost if necessary.

I bought multiples; will you combine shipping?

Yes! I will combine shipping and refund applicable shipping overages…or if the shipping cost is much higher, I may re-adjust shipping cost and send you a new invoice. Please be aware that multiple ceramic pieces in one box means more packaging material which creates more weight resulting in a higher cost. I will only combine shipments if it is safe to do so.

Do you offer pickup for local customers?

Yes😊 If you live in the Okanagan Valley, and you can pick up your item in Vernon BC; Please use appropriate tab at checkout to remove the shipping costs, and we can arrange a pick-up that works for you.

******Please include an email and/or phone number so I can contact you to arrange pick-up.

When will my order ship?

Your purchases are shipped "as quickly as possible,"  Your order will be shipped out between 3 - 5 business days after purchase.

Where do you ship to?

For the time being, I'm only shipping within Canada and to the U.S.
Customs/Duty/Tax/Tariffs etc., fees for items entering the U.S are the sole responsibility of the buyer.

How do I care for my new pottery?

Pottery is fragile and should always be handled with care! Everything is dishwasher safe (unless stated otherwise)! Although, I suggest hand washing because it ensures the longevity of the piece! Right after opening your package always wash your new pottery with warm soapy water before using it! Do not stack your pottery in the sink to avoid chipping. To avoid thermal shock do not freeze your pottery or pour boiling water into a cold mug! Thermal shock happens when ceramic changes temperature drastically creating cracks through the ceramic causing leakage. Run warm water over your mug before pouring boiling water into it!

Do you take custom orders?

Sorry, No...For many reasons I no longer create custom work

Can you hold a piece for me?

I do not hold items. To make it fair for everyone, every piece is first come first serve.

Can I put my mug in the microwave? Yes! Most of my work is microwave safe! Be careful your mug might be very hot to touch! Pieces with gold or Mother of pearl luster are NOT microwave or dishwasher safe! Unless you want to see sparks fly

Discounted/ On Sale / Seconds

Usually, if items are on sale, it is because of aesthetic imperfections (glaze defects, etc), or I’ve had the piece for too long, so I’d like to make space for new work. Please read the description of each item carefully! Please be aware that all pieces are handmade and have nuances which give the handmade touch.

I want multiple items but don't want to miss out on something during a restock.

I would recommend purchasing each item individually and then I will combine and refund you any shipping overages. Sometimes things sell out fast so it is best to purchase an item immediately rather than leave it in your cart if you are concerned about missing out.

Damages

If your item is damaged in shipment, please email me immediately shellannceramics@gmail.com with photos of the broken product and box it was shipped in! Refunds will not be issued unless it is the same day of delivery with proof of damage. **Refund will be issued for item only, not the shipping charge.

Lost Package/ Stolen/ Delayed

Once the package is delivered to the post office it is out of my hands. I cannot be held responsible for shipping delays, lost or stolen packages. Please contact your local post office and check your tracking number history! Even if your tracking info online has not changed, please visit your local post office because it might be there!

What is your refund policy?

I do not accept exchanges or returns. Please look through all photos and read descriptions to know exactly what you are purchasing! I try my best to photograph everything in bright natural light. Glaze colors may differ in dim artificial lighting

For this reason, please read the item details carefully to ensure you're happy with the description. This policy is very common among potters who sell online, because each piece truly is one of a kind.

By purchasing from ShAnnCer you are acknowledging that:

Each item is HANDMADE and will show the marks of this process.

All items are food safe, we only use lead-free glazes.

Each piece is unique, with differences in  glaze results and slight variations in size and shape.
